And thus begins the continuity error introduced with this scene. Hew who, in his own way, is a sort of walking continuity error, is brought back into the action a bit earlier than in the theatrical version. No effort has been put into explaining why or how he magically reappears in the tavern after this ordeal. In fact, not much effort has gone into explaining much of anything about these strips, so that's not a real surprise. | Pzamdriel normally gets a headache from talking to Hew. However, when she's forced to listen to him as well, it becomes something of a migraine. This is known as Listening To Dwarves Syndrome. The little triangles on Hew's armor are not dents, extra eyes, or little flaming decals. They are areas of reflected light. Or maybe they're gills. | This is one of those strips categorized as "Not Funny Ha-Ha." Most strips of most comics are like this. There's some amusing aspect to it, but you'd feel a bit of a knob if you actually found yourself laughing at it. Some comic strips have raised this type of comic-strip holding pattern to an art form. For instance, most people would probably claim to like Garfield, but if asked what they last laughed at was, they'd probably mutter something about "Lyman" and an animated Christmas special. |
