Well, It’s Something

Looking around at my list of Things… not any specific kind of Thing, just Things in general… I came across something I had been working on a while ago. Link buttons, to be exact. I had set them aside thinking I might come back and improve them later but, you know, I never did. And so I have decided to finally make them public. I figure, these are my first link buttons, aren’t they supposed to suck just a little bit?

Now personally, I dislike animated link buttons. Oh, sure, they look fine my themselves, but the very nature of the link button is to congregate with others of its kind, in a sort of link button community. What happens then is that they start preening themselves and strutting around, trying to impress all the link button lasses around town. What this means is you get an entire row of buttons, some of which are blinking, some scroll to the left and others to the right, one of them is grabbing its crotch and saying something obscene, etc. It’s like the Vegas strip without the lure of quick, easy money.

And so, of course, most of my link buttons are animated. It’s the length of the damn comic’s name. “Once Upon A Table” does not fit nicely into 88 pixels by 31 pixels, no matter what font you use.
